HoneyBook vs Dubsado for Photographers: Which Fits Your Setup?

For photographers comparing automations, start with HoneyBook Essentials and Dubsado Premier. At the US annual-billing prices checked October 26, 2026, they cost $588 and $525 per year respectively. Both cover the core client paperwork. Your website forms, scheduling needs and follow-up process should guide the rest of the decision.

How much do HoneyBook and Dubsado cost?

Here are the standard US subscription prices listed on HoneyBook's pricing page and Dubsado's pricing page, checked October 26, 2026. All amounts are USD. Taxes, promotions and payment-processing charges are separate.

“Pay yearly” is the full annual bill. “Yearly ÷ 12” shows its monthly equivalent for comparison; it is not a monthly payment option. “Pay monthly” is the month-to-month subscription price. Dubsado Premier is $63 less per year than HoneyBook Essentials at these list prices. Your total also depends on the plan's features and payment charges.

We have left processing rates out of the table because HoneyBook's public pricing page showed conflicting figures when checked. Confirm the applicable rate with the provider before comparing total costs.

Which plans include automations and scheduling?

HoneyBook includes automations on Essentials and Premium. Starter still has limited scheduling: its plan documentation lists one active Scheduler session. Essentials provides greater scheduling capacity.

Dubsado puts its scheduler and automated workflows on Premier. Its Starter plan covers client administration without those features. Check the Dubsado plan comparison against the tasks you want to automate.

Write out the actual sequence you need. A wedding inquiry might need a reply, a consultation, a proposal, a contract, a first payment and a reminder. During a trial, check which steps you can automate, which need your approval and what happens if a client pauses partway through.

What about forms, teammates and mobile access?

The plan limits can matter if you have separate inquiry forms for weddings, families and commercial work.

Both have a trial. Dubsado lists 21 days of Premier without a card. Use the current pricing pages to confirm trial terms, and try the tasks you actually handle from your phone.

What should you test before choosing a photography CRM?

Use one sample inquiry and work through the whole process:

1. Submit your website form from a phone.
2. Find the new inquiry in the CRM and check the notification.
3. Send a proposal, contract and invoice to yourself.
4. Open them on a phone and check the package names, dates and payment instructions.
5. Review the client portal, reminders and any changes that need your approval.
6. Check how a second person would help with the project, if you need team access.

How does your CRM connect to your website?

Usually, the CRM's lead form is embedded on your contact page or linked from it. Check that the form on your live site is the one you intend to use. After a switch, an old embed can keep sending new inquiries to the previous system.

Which one should you try first?

Start with the plan that covers your actual process. If your current CRM does the job and the website form reaches it reliably, reviewing the setup may be enough.
